Description
Husky is a general name for a type of dog used to pull sleds on the ice. The Alaskan Malamute, by contrast, is larger and more powerful" and was used for heavier loads. Huskies are used in sled dog racing as well as for working.
The name Husky originated from the word referring to Arctic people in general, Eskimos. They have a thick double coat that can be gray, black, copper red, or white. Huskies are known for pale blue eyes, although they may also have brown eyes, green eyes, or may even have yellow eyes.
