Description
St. Mawes Castle in Cornwall was originally built by King Henry The Eighth between 1540-1542. It was built as an artillery fortification in the event of a French Invasion. This castle and its sister castle, Pendennis. Stands opposite at the entrance to the Carrick Roads waterway at the mouth of the River Fal.
