Description
One of the Two engine houses called The Crowns at the Botallack tin mine in the West of Cornwall. The mine reaches out to sea for about 400m and approximately 500m deep under the ocean floor.
The lower house that is seen, held a 30-inch pumping engine, built in 1835 to replace a smaller engine at the same place. It was built on the rock with no foundations. This building weighs around 1200 tons
